Do the Work

Steven Pressfield’s "Do the Work" is a short, direct manual about overcoming Resistance, the internal force he defines as the enemy of creative and professional achievement. Published in 2011 as a companion to his better-known book "The War of Art," it was produced in partnership with Seth Godin’s Domino Project and is designed to be read in a single sitting. The central argument is that Resistance is not a metaphor but a real, cunning adversary that surfaces as procrastination, self-doubt, rationalization, and perfectionism whenever a person pursues something meaningful. He closes by arguing that finishing and sharing the work matters more than polishing it endlessly, because the act of completion is itself the victory over Resistance.
