Walter Isaacson’s *Steve Jobs*, published in 2011, is an authorized biography based on more than forty interviews with Jobs and interviews with over a hundred family members, friends, rivals, and colleagues. Isaacson traces Jobs’s life from his adoption in California and his abandonment of Reed College through the founding of Apple with Steve Wozniak in his parents’ garage, his forced departure in 1985, and his later return to rescue the company before his death in 2011.
