《Words of Radiance》摘要

"Words of Radiance," the second installment in Brandon Sanderson's epic Stormlight Archive series, plunges deeper into the intricate lore and expansive world of Roshar. The novel develops the intertwined narratives of its diverse protagonists as ancient threats re-emerge and the mystery of the Knights Radiant unfolds. Kaladin Stormblessed, now a captain in Dalinar Kholin's Royal Guard, grapples with his burgeoning Surgebinding powers as a nascent Windrunner, struggling with leadership and his sworn oaths. His journey explores Alethkar's societal divides and the moral complexities of warfare on the Shattered Plains. Meanwhile, Shallan Davar travels to the warcamps, ostensibly to apprentice under Jasnah Kholin, yet her true quest involves uncovering the secrets of the ancient Knights Radiant and the legendary city of Urithiru. As a developing Lightweaver, she harnesses Soulcasting and illusion, confronting traumatic past memories that shape her powers and identity. Highprince Dalinar Kholin continues efforts to unite the fractured Alethi highprinces and understand the prophetic visions that plague him, all while leading the War of Reckoning against the enigmatic Parshendi. He strives to reform a corrupt warrior society, guided by "The Way of Kings." The narrative expands on Roshar's unique ecosystem, where life adapts to destructive Highstorms, and delves deeper into spren—elemental spirits crucial to the world's magic system and Surgebinding. "Words of Radiance" sets the stage for the return of the Voidbringers and introduces the terrifying Everstorm, a new cataclysmic weather event threatening to reshape Roshar entirely. The book explores themes of leadership, trauma, identity, and the weight of prophecy as its heroes race against time to understand the world's past and secure its future.
