Ron Chernow’s Washington (2010) is a single-volume biography of George Washington, and the author’s first full-length study of a Founding Father after his acclaimed biographies of Alexander Hamilton and John D. Rockefeller. Chernow traces Washington’s life from his youth as a surveyor and militia officer in colonial Virginia through the French and Indian War, his command of the Continental Army during the American Revolution, his presidency of the Constitutional Convention, and his two terms as the first U.S. president.
